In honour of International Women’s Day, we’re highlighting the achievements and experiences of women in the tech industry. Here, we chat with Georgia Graham, Business Development Manager for Synapse360.
Georgia’s love for her career in tech stems from the opportunity it gives her to travel and connect with different people through projects, conferences, meeting clients and partner channels. She finds the dynamic nature of the tech industry to be exciting as there is always an advancement and innovation in new technology, making it a fulfilling career choice.
Georgia believes that women in tech are not only part of the future, but also have the opportunity to contribute diverse perspectives and creative solutions that can shape the future of technology.
However, the tech industry still faces challenges in terms of gender representation and inclusion. Georgia highlights that misrepresentation in the tech sector is still an ongoing problem, with 97% of FTSE 100 CTOs being male. She would like to see more progress be made, as she said: “The imbalance of women in higher roles highlights a need for more proactive measures to address gender representation and inclusion.”
Georgia’s message to young women thinking about a career in tech is simple: do it! Tech is an exciting, prosperous, and fulfilling career option. She encourages young women not to change to fit in but to be themselves, as their accomplishments will speak for themselves.
