With Global Recycling Day being just around the corner (18th March) and with the need for us to recycle increasing every day, so does the need for us all to do our bit and make the planet that bit greener for future generations. Our Team at Synapse360 and our parent company Manx Telecom are already getting involved in supporting this global initiative but just because you aren’t lucky enough to be a part of team synapse360 it doesn’t mean that you can’t help our planet too!
Ways You Can Help!
Recycle your used batteries at the office!
Many things in our lives would be no use to us without batteries to power them. Batteries power our phones and laptops, our cars, our tv remotes, our kid’s toys and more. Batteries are important to the way the way we live out life and so is battery recycling.
There are lots of different types of batteries and they each contain different chemicals and materials. Many of these chemicals are quite toxic to us and the environment. Recycling batteries helps make sure that we handle these toxic chemicals safely.
When looking to recycle your batteries keep them away from the rest of your rubbish and take them down to your local recycling centre and ask a member of staff how best to recycle them!
Recycle Your Old Phones
How many old mobile handsets do you have in drawers in your home? Rather than leaving them in a draw why not donate them to local charities to be recycled or sell them yourself and make some extra pocket money for yourself by using websites such as www.sellmymobile.com
This National Recycling Day, our Manchester office will be donating any unwanted mobile phones to Oxfam through their fonebank scheme. All phones will be wiped before being placed back out for purchase or recycled effectively by Fonebank. The money raised from the donations will go towards’ Oxfam’s continued work throughout the UK and the rest of the world to end poverty and support those in need.

Recycle The Right Way
In all Synapse360 offices there are recycle bins clearly marked to help you recycle more effectively whilst in any of our three offices. When dumping your trash, make sure to check the labels on each bin to ensure that your waste can be recycled effectively! If working from home, please also take the time to recycle any household waste appropriately.
