Private Managed Clouds are exactly that, private. This type of cloud has its hardware solely dedicated to the exact requirements of the business or organisation. Similar to the advantages of public cloud, private cloud offers the same flexibility and scalability benefits but with extra security.
How does Private Managed Cloud Work?
By design a private managed cloud model is dedicated solely to a single businesses meaning that unlike the public cloud it doesn’t share its resources. The private model is specifically tailored to an individual businesses needs, to support specific infrastructure or resources.
What are the features of private cloud?
Private cloud is one of three popular cloud deployments – public, private and hybrid.
Whilst some of them share the same elements, the private cloud does offer businesses some alternative features including:
- Bespoke, single architecture – designed specifically for the customer
- Dedicated Hardware
- Direct control of your underlying infrastructure
What Are The Types of Private Cloud?
Due to the bespoke nature of private cloud there is not a one size fits all architecture and across varying industries it can take on various formats.
- Virtual – a secured ‘walled off’ environment within a ‘public cloud’ that allows organisations to undertake work away from other users within the public cloud sphere. Although within the public cloud platform its additional security means that it is inaccessible to other public cloud users
- Managed – A managed private cloud is an environment in which the cloud hosting provider (Synapse360) manages every aspect of the cloud system on an organisations behalf. This includes everything from deploying any additional services needed, scaling up or down dependent on requirements and performing any updates such as important security updates.
- Hosted – similar to the above, a hosted private cloud is where the servers are dedicated solely to that business or organisation with the cloud service provider (Synapse360) undertaking any maintenance when required.
