Backup & Recovery
Backup designed around what you need back, and how fast
Managed backup built around your recovery point and recovery time objectives, with restores you can request at your own cadence. Part of Synapse Adaptive Cloud, protecting workloads wherever they run.
Overview
Our Managed Backup and Recovery Service
Adaptive Cloud places each workload in the environment that suits it — public cloud, private cloud or sovereign infrastructure. Backup is the layer that wraps all of it, so protection follows the workload rather than the platform.
We design your backup policy around how much data you can afford to lose, how quickly you need it back, and how long you need to keep it. From there our team runs it: jobs created, schedules maintained, failures investigated, restores handled whenever you need them.
Benefits
What the benefits of Backup & Recovery are
-
Restores on your cadence
You request restores when you want them, as often as you want them, included as standard. Enhanced options are available where you need something more structured.
-
Built around your recovery objectives
Backup is designed around your RPO, RTO and retention requirements, so protection matches the value of each workload rather than applying one policy across the estate.
-
The whole lifecycle, managed
Assessment and sizing, job creation, retention changes, scheduled restores, test restores, emergency restores, failure investigation and remediation, and quarterly service reviews are all included as standard.
-
Encrypted in transit and at rest
Backup data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, managed from our UK and Isle of Man service centres.
-
Commercial flexibility
Backup can be structured to suit how you buy — as a managed service, alongside your existing estate, or as part of a wider Adaptive Cloud arrangement.

What we protect & what we can recover
Standard coverage includes: VMware and Hyper-V, Physical servers, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, SQL and Oracle databases. Other platforms — including Google Workspace, Salesforce, Dynamics 365 and endpoints — are available on request.
We can recover individual files, databases, virtual machines or a complete environment, depending on what you need back and how quickly.

Backup gives you a restore point for everyday recovery. Recovery from a cyber attack calls for an isolated, immutable copy held outside your environment, which is what our Cyber Recovery service provides.
