Rapid Cyber Recovery
Rapid Cyber Recovery
Cyber recovery is not one product or one backup copy. It is the outcome of infrastructure, cloud, network and data protection services working together before an attack happens, so your organisation has somewhere clean, controlled and proven to recover into.
What it means
Recovery only works if every layer is ready
When a cyber attack reaches production systems, the question is no longer whether you have backups. It is whether you can trust them, access them, restore them quickly and prove the process works under pressure. Attackers often try to compromise recovery capability as part of the attack path. That makes cyber recovery different from everyday backup or traditional disaster recovery: it has to assume the primary estate may be unsafe, and that recovery must happen from a verified copy held beyond the attacker’s reach.
Synapse brings the required layers together: owned datacentre infrastructure, resilient connectivity, private and sovereign cloud environments, managed public cloud governance, immutable backup, isolated recovery and tested runbooks. The result is a recovery position designed around the business outcome, not a collection of disconnected services.

What we do
How we combine for rapid cyber recovery
Rapid cyber recovery depends on more than a vault. It needs the right workload placement, a secure recovery environment, resilient connectivity, governed cloud services and a tested route back to operation.
-
Infrastructure
Datacentres & Colo and Connectivity & Interconnect provide the physical and network foundation for recovery. Synapse-owned Tier 3 datacentres and carrier-grade connectivity give protected copies and recovery platforms a controlled place to sit, with the jurisdiction, access and resilience designed into the service from the start.
-
Private Cloud
Managed Private Cloud, Managed Hybrid Cloud, Sovereign Cloud and Managed Network create the controlled recovery environment. Critical systems can be restored into dedicated infrastructure, validated before return to production and connected through a network managed by the same team that understands the wider estate.
-
Public Cloud
Managed Public Cloud, Cloud Architecture, Cloud Migration and FinOps & Cost Optimisation help keep public cloud workloads governed, recoverable and commercially controlled. Recovery planning includes where cloud-native workloads should be protected, restored or rebuilt, so elasticity supports the recovery plan rather than adding complexity.
-
Data Protection
Backup & Recovery, Disaster Recovery, Cyber Recovery and MDR as a Service provide the protection layer. Immutable backup protects everyday recovery points, disaster recovery supports major outage scenarios, cyber recovery provides isolated clean-room restoration after an attack, and managed detection and response helps threats be identified and contained.
-
Adaptive Cloud
Adaptive Cloud ties these services together through one operating model. Each workload is assessed against performance, cost, compliance, sovereignty and recovery requirements, then protected in the way that best fits its business value.

The rapid cyber recovery model
From assessment to tested recovery.
First, we identify the systems that must survive an attack: the applications, data, dependencies, network paths and compliance evidence that matter most to the organisation. From there, we define the recovery sequence, prioritise minimum viable operations and agree the recovery position each workload needs.
Then we design the environment around that outcome. Protected copies are isolated from production. Recovery infrastructure is prepared in advance. Cloud and network dependencies are documented. Runbooks are tested, evidenced and updated as the estate changes.

Clients receive clear, regular reporting that supports planning and confident decision-making.

Every customer gets a dedicated Customer Success Manager and a team focused on proactive improvement, clear reporting and full accountability. For cyber recovery, that means the solution does not stand still: workloads, dependencies, risks and recovery evidence are reviewed as your estate changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight Answers
Backup covers daily and long-term recovery of workloads, files and user data. Cyber recovery is used specifically after an attack, restoring from a copy held outside your environment and checked for signs of compromise.
Disaster recovery addresses catastrophic failure of your environment or hardware. Cyber recovery addresses a deliberate attack, where the assumption is that the primary estate can no longer be trusted.
No. Cyber Recovery runs alongside your current backup arrangement, with compatibility confirmed during design.
Within the vault, data is analysed for signs of compromise and alerts are sent to you directly, and we monitor the health of the vault infrastructure. Detection across your wider estate is a separate discipline.
Yes. An isolated recovery environment can be added where you need somewhere clean to bring systems up and check them first.
Most organisations begin by establishing what has to survive an attack, what a board or regulator expects them to evidence, and how their data is protected today.
