Partner badges are everywhere, so it’s fair to ask what this one actually means. The short answer: it can’t be bought, and it can’t be claimed. It has to be earned with evidence.

How Microsoft decides

Microsoft awards Solutions Partner designations using what it calls a Partner Capability Score. It’s built from real data, measured by Microsoft, across three areas.

• Are customers choosing to work with this partner on Microsoft 365?
• Do the partner’s people hold current, relevant Microsoft certifications?
• Customer success. Do the deployments land, and are people actually using the tools?

That last area carries the most weight. Microsoft doesn’t just count licences sold. It looks at whether Microsoft 365 workloads like Teams, Exchange, SharePoint and Intune reach meaningful levels of use, and whether the number of active users keeps growing. A partner has to score well across every area, not just one.

Why that matters to us

That way of measuring lines up with how we’ve always thought about Microsoft 365. A licence on its own doesn’t change anything for a business. The value comes when people use the tools well: when Teams becomes how work gets done, when devices are secure and properly managed, and when Copilot is set up to help rather than confuse.
